Javno Croatia After the Deputy Prime Minister Darko Milinovic criticized HUP leadership, Kosor shared a coffee with them and had a little chat. The Government has provided one billion kunas to attract capital ventures in Croatia, the president of the government, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said during the opening of the second Private Equity Conference in South Eastern Europe.
She added that, as part of measures to get out of the economic crisis, the government seeks to provide favorable conditions for investment and venture capital. Kosor further explained that they can be drivers of economic development by contributing to the opening of new and retaining of already existing jobs, increasing investment in research and development.
The government has decided to set aside funds for economic cooperation to encourage development of private equity and venture capital markets - which Croatia has not been successful in attracting so far. - The government is also working on creating conditions to attract other forms of investment such as FDI. This trend should be assited by Croatia’s imminent completion of negotiations on accession to the EU and determined fight against corruption - said the prime minister. She said she hopes that Croatia would complete negotiations for entry into the European Union by the end of the year to and that Croatian legislative-regulatory framework is almost fully adapted to the legislative acquis of the Union.
Kosor briefly spoke with Tedeschi and Kustrak
She noted that, after entering the Union, Croatia should be able to withdraw funds from the financial package. Minister of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship Djuro Popijac said that the establishment of the resources for economic co-operation should facilitate the financing of entrepreneurship during the crisis and recession.
Emil Tedeschi welcomed the government initiative on behalf of the Croatian Employers' Association. He noted that it was difficult to find any initial sources of financing because all institutions answered that they would only add matching funds. - We should encourage entrepreneurs and dance the tango together - said poetic Tedeschi. Kosor left shortly after a brief discussion with Tedeschi and HUP president Damir Kustrak. Recall, vice-president of the government Darko Milinovic criticized HUP on Monday for joining President Josipovic’s Economic Council without consulting the Prime Minister Kosor.
